We had a great turnout and very active participation at this year’s RAPA spring meeting with lots of new and exciting ideas to move our association forward into the future. Status updates were provided from our Data, Education, Risk, and PLT initiatives with a lot of motivation to kick off an new Innovation initiative.  The roundtables which followed were extremely beneficial capturing some unique opportunities for us to implement.  Our Planning initiative provided updates on the agenda for this year’s conference with some insights from the members as we plan for 2018.  In addition, our Membership initiative provide updates on…

Spring Meeting:  A reminder that the annual spring meeting will be held on Tuesday March 28, 2017 from 12:00pm to 3:00pm at LOGiQ3 offices, located at 60 Adelaide Street East, Suite 1300 Toronto, Ontario (https://goo.gl/maps/5kAQ2Z2usFr). Please be advised that the RAPA website is open for new membership enrollment and renewals for 2017.  The fee will remain at $75.00 US for both Voting and Non-Voting members. Every company is required to have at least one Voting member and the rest of the members will be Non-Voting members. RAPA has a published a new article in the quarterly SOA Reinsurance Section Newsletter, “Knowledge + Data is Power” (attached).    This quarter’s edition also includes an overview of the upcoming Canadian Reinsurance Conference on March 29th, Insurance REvolution.  RAPA will be hosting a breakout session, “Reinsurance Administration - The Guardians of the “Data” Galaxy“ and which we hope you will be able to attend. This year RAPA members traveled deep into the heart of Texas for an extraordinary journey.   San Antonio featured an historical experience with the Alamo, an exquisite river, and took us to new heights at the Towers of Americas. Our conference kicked off with a meet and great with our 30 first time attendees from as far as Australia to Barbados, and Trinidad & Tobago.   Our planning committee not only set the stage for a great event but kicked it off in style with Western “Chic” – not sure if I’ve figured this out just yet J.  Our icebreaker…
